What's The Craic?
Writing | Interviewing | Editing | Design
Sep 2015 - June 2016
Writer & Editor
(School Magazine)
In addition to my GCSE Journalism studies, I had to produce a school magazine. Creating What’s the Craic was my first time having the freedom to decide what topics and themes to address.
This was also the first time I experienced censorship as a journalist.
My Role
Local Audiences
The only criteria we had was to tailor the publication for regional audiences (based in the Irish province of Ulster). Localised vernacular was used in the title to connect with our target-readers.

Key Content
I was delighted to produce several key articles; including:
-
Profile piece on Local Entrepreneur
-
What can be done to fight growing negligence of animals across the UK?
-
The aftermath of Republic of Ireland relegalizing same-sex marriage in November 2015 and what this meant for the North of the island?
-
Revisiting Ireland's indigenous healing practices before the over-medicalisation of public health.
