The Fitting Room
TV Programme
Jan - Feb 2019
Presented by some of Ireland’s greatest designers and stylists, The Fitting Room was a television series produced by DSP TV for RTÉ, Ireland’s public service broadcaster.
It followed the journey of eighteen candidates whose lives explored a range of circumstances which often presented challenges when shopping for their desired style.

My Role
Task Variation
As a production runner, I was on hand to assist with a variety of tasks. From distributing radios and headset, organising candidate wardrobes, delivering scripts, call sheets and standing in as an extra.

Beverage Supplier
One of my most important duties as a runner was ensuring all crew and contributors had an ongoing supply of their bespoke hot and cold beverages.

The importance of this task, with teams working long hours in January, cannot be underestimated!
Crowd Management
On a very busy set, crowd management was high priority. Filming at a large historical Irish estate, I had to ensure people didn't wander in during filming or anywhere out of bounds.
It was important to keep a calm flow while guiding people around set. Which is why keeping up-to-date call sheets and schedules was paramount.

Invalueable Experiences
In addition to making connections within Ireland's media industry, I was able to learn from top creative professionals spanning a variety of skill sets; direction, design, sound, technical, stylists, and journalists.

Listening first-hand to the diversity of routes which had led people to these projects was an invaluable experience.
Meet the Cast
Meet The Fitting Room host, designers and fashionistas; Paddy Smyth, Ciara O'Doherty, Zoë Carol and Ruedi Maguire.

This ensemble aimed to empower "non-standard" body shapes, sizes, gender identity or abilities - by styling guests who often find it hard to express themselves through fashion.

I was delighted to contribute to a project which was delivering this positive message and celebrating what makes us unique.
